Our Staff
Paula, an LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician) joined our staff in 2009. Paula comes with a wealth of clinical experience as an LVT of 8 years at Cornell University Animal Hospital. She received the prestigious Veterinary Technician of the Year award while at Cornell. Paula shares her knowledge and skills to assist the clinical growth of our hospital. She cares for both Small and Large Animals and is our leader in Critical Care and Nursing needs. She provides excellent dental care to our patients. She is also known to spoil her colleagues with baked goodies and Frosties! Paula makes herself available to support in Emergency On-call situations.
Valerie is a veterinary assistant who joined our staff in 2004. Val is a graduate of the BOCES Animal Science program. Val has gained recognition at the hospital for her exceptional lab skills and her attention to detail. She worked as a groomer prior to being a veterinary assistant and often assists the staff in doing "functional grooming" as the need arises. Val is currently enrolled in the Licensed Veterinary Technician Program through Cedar Valley College. She is enjoying being a new Mom! She is also available to support in Emergency On-Call situations.
Sue is a veterinary assistant who joined the Day Hollow Animal Hospital staff in 2006. She graduated from Broome Community College with a degree in business administration. Sue uses her accounting skills as the bookeeper. Her administrative skills help make the hospital run smoothly. She is a volunteer at Waterman Conservation Center and has extensive knowledge of wildlife - she shares this knowledge with our clients and the community. Sue is currently enrolled in the Licensed Veterinary Technician program through Cedar Valley college. She is our leader in Inventory control. Sue is available for Emergency On-Call support.
Karen joined our staff in 2008. Karen has quickly become our team's customer service leader. She is our receptionist extraordinaire and masterfully coordinates patient care in the reception room, on the telephone and throughout our facility. Her juggling skills (literally!) also come in very handy in arranging our day to day schedule. Her talents in gardening and floral arrangement beautify our hospital. Karen is currently enrolled in the Licensed Veterinary Technician program through Cedar Valley College. Whatever needs to be done - she is there to do it with a smile!
Trish joined the Day Hollow Animal Hospital staff in 2009. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Trish graduated from Delhi University. She is currently our lead surgical technician, and makes every Surgery Day a success. She provides excellent dental care for our patients. Her laboratory skills are efficient and exemplary. Trish is available to support in Emergency On-Call situations. She is the proud "parent" of a beautiful new kitten.
Stephanie has been an employee since 2004. She is currently studying to be a physical education instructor at SUNY Cortland. She has worked at Day Hollow since she was a high school junior, starting as kennel assistant and now as one of our key receptionists. She plays many roles in our hospital - for example, she is working diligently to help make our practice more "green". She is known for her easy-going nature and is a joy to work with!
Abby started with our staff as a Kennel Assistant and has developed her duties to include receptionist. Abby is currently a shining scholar at Ithaca College, pursuing her desire to gain admission into the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She works with us on vacation and summer breaks. She also is known to spoil our staff with homemade fudge and her artistic talents.
Ginny is the Practice Manager at our hospital and has been since 2003. She is also the wife of Dr. Hills. She has worked in human health care for over 20 years as a registered nurse prior to joining Dr. Hills in the management of the hospital. Ginny is currently enrolled in the Licensed Veterinary Technician program through Cedar Valley College.
Patrick is the "caretaker" for our hospital. Always ready to fix whatever needs fixing so we can all take great care of the pets and people that come to our hospital. He keeps a watchful eye on the property and assures we have the local supplies that we need.
